HOW BIZARRE 2ND AT 2016 PORT LINCOLN REGATTA

17 Mar 2016 by How Bizarre Admin

The Adelaide to Port Lincoln Blue Water Ocean Classic and the Port Lincoln Regatta Week were held from the 18th February 2016 through to the 25th February 2016, and were hosted by the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron (RSAYS) and the Port Lincoln Yacht Club.

Unfortunately, How Bizarre had to abandon the Adelaide to Port Lincoln destination race three hours in due to the boat taking on a large amount of water in difficult conditions. After examining the boat in dry-dock back at the RSAYS at 5:00 AM, it was found to be caused by a faulty seacock in the ‘head’ and this was accentuated by the fact that the boat was heeled right over on the starboard side where the ‘head’ is located and consequently it was below the outside water line for several hours. We finally headed off to Port Lincoln but registered a “DNF” for this destination race.

The final results for the Port Lincoln regatta which was held over 6 races were as follows:

How Bizarre won Line Honours in all six races in Division 2.

For Division 2 Series (overall) in AMS Class:
1. Julia
2. How Bizarre
3. Sextant

For Division 2 Series (overall) in PHS Class:
1. Misty
2. Laurelle
Eq 3. Academy, Julia & How Bizarre

There were not enough IRC entrants for an IRC Class in Division 2.
